Just a little antidote. While I myself never actually did the fishing, on one cruise I took my son with me and he did. As a day trip off the ship in Alaska, he went fishing and CAUGHT A HUGE SALMON. He brought it back to the ship and the kitchen crew froze it for us and at debarkation time, they put it in a lovely Styrofoam box for us to take with us. First I have to mention that the box was very nice about 6″ square by about 24″ long.
The handle was about midway for balance, however, everyone knows that a fish is not equally proportioned. So the box was a bit difficult to handle with the frozen fish sliding back and forth. But that was just the first problem. We put the frozen fish in the overhead compartment and just prayed that it wouldn’t start to thaw and drip on our heads on the six hour trip home All went well and we enjoyed that fish for months after we got home.
