Home and Garden covers a very broad sweep of subjects. Things from building a home to growing your own vegetables. Also, home furnishing and decorating, which can include woodworking, painting, and paper hanging. When the term paper hanging is mentioned, a funny family story popped into my memory. My grandfather was a painter and paper hanger. When my brother and I were still children, my parents bought a new home and my grandfather came to help decorate it. For the first time, each my brother and I each had our own rooms.
For his room, my brother, age about 4, picked out wallpaper that had airplanes on it. Mind you this was in the early days of airplanes. When the papering was done and my brother was shown the room, he was asked what he thought. He wisely replied, “It would be really great if the planes weren’t upside down!”
