Are you as much of a lover of fresh Wild Alaska Salmon as I am? Wouldn’t it be great to have it delivered right to your doorstep? Now it is totally possible. The Wild Alaska Company is bringing it right to our doorstep in recyclable packaging.

The fish is flash-frozen the minute it hits the docks to retain that fresh-caught flavor and quality. The frozen state is sustained during shipping regardless of weather conditions with properly designed packaging and dry ice.
You can select what you receive!! Either all salmon or a combination of white fish and salmon, or just white fish.. You get 12 – 6 oz portions ready for cooking and serving. Just thaw and cook.

So how do you cook salmon? There are many ways to prepare the salmon depending upon your choice. My favorite way to cook it is to poach it.
How to Poach Wild Alaska Salmon
How do you do that? I take a medium-size saucepan and add about two inches of water. Then I insert a vegetable steamer device. You want the water level to be just below the plate of the steamer. Then place the fish, skin side down on the steamer grill. Cover the pan and bring the water to a boil. You are actually steaming the fish. It will take about 10-15 minutes to complete the cooking. You can check for doneness by flaking the fish with a fork. It is done when it is no longer translucent.

You want a steamer basket without the center post, similar to the one shown here. They are available everywhere that cookware is sold.
Toppings?
Once your salmon is completely cooked, it is ready for serving. Many people add glazes and/or sauces over the cooked salmon. I prefer just butter and a little lemon juice if I have it. I just butter the top of the salmon serving with a pat of butter and let it melt into the warm cooked fish. Oh Yum!!!
