I am an Online Marketer

So what is an online marketer?

Rory Ricord, the online guru, and author of the book Marketing is Freedom has asked each of the people with PBS websites to write a page explaining who we are and what we do. I know when people ask me what I do and I say I am an online marketer, I get some pretty blank responses. It brings to mind the children’s rhyme

To Market to Market to buy a fat pig

Home again Home again jiggity-jig

In this rhyme, “market” is used as a noun and implies a place where products are sold. When we use the word market as a verb, it takes a different definition, because to market is not to sell, but to inform. As a marketer, it is my responsibility to bring information about a product to the awareness of the public. I am tasked with making sure the features of the product are known. And I am tasked with bringing customers to the market site. The market and its sales personnel are then responsible for selling the product to the customer. Selling implies maintaining an inventory or source for a product. The seller is responsible for taking the order, collecting the payment, and shipping and/or delivering the product.

As an online marketer, I do not take orders or handle any money. I do not have to maintain costly inventory. And, I do not have to do any shipping. I do, however, receive a commission for bringing the customer to the seller.

How to Market a Product

We use our PBS system to market the products. Each page within the website can represent a separate product. We try to research the product to determine competitive products. Also, to examine the qualities of the product we are presenting. We bring the pros and the cons to the attention of the public. We try to present the information a busy buyer may need to make an informed decision to purchase a product. Since our pages are online and readily available for review, we are considered an online marketer.

What Products do we Market?

Our “product line” is constantly changing as new items are added almost weekly. Therefore, you should bookmark this website so you can visit it often. The PBS website has a menu that runs down the left side of the page if you are on a computer or as a drop-down from the upper right of the display on a smartphone. It also has a search function on the upper right of the computer screen or at the very bottom of the home page posts. You have to scroll down thru them to find it. Within the search field, you can enter single words that will bring up things of interest. I just entered Arizona and got a page about bass fishing in Arizona and scrolled down to find some Arizona tourist travel pages.

I try to keep an index type of page current with links to my most current pages. It is called AAA What is New so it appears high up on the Menu list. When you find it, bookmark it so you can come back to it easily.

More Marketing Products

While the product line is constantly growing, we have some basic items which Rory calls the Anchor Products. He refers to them as legs on a table or stool, so there are always three or more holding up that stool and making it stable. Our number one Anchor item is Fine Wine. This again is an item we market but do not sell outright. The wine is distributed thru the Wine of the Month Club. The charter for this club is to introduce and teach people about the varietals and characteristics of Fine Wine.

It is not the same as the bottles of over-the-counter wine you buy in the supermarket. We teach thru this Club the significant differences between the two. If you have ever wondered why people will spend sometimes hundreds of dollars on a bottle of wine, this club is for you. We don’t charge you hundreds of dollars for this information. We send you four bottles of this very special wine on a monthly basis to sample and learn about. While sometimes the value of the bottles we receive is quite costly, we are charged less than $100 for the shipment of the four bottles of Fine Wine that come right to our door.

Another Marketing Anchor

Our second “anchor” is with a relatively new company that is producing nootropic diet supplements to enhance your life. All are totally natural and each has unique qualities to add energy, sleep, and weight loss to your life. They are presented in snazzy snap packets that are easy to carry in your purse or pocket and are taken by bending the packet in half and squeezing the content directly into your mouth. They are super convenient and add much to your daily life. You can learn more about them by going to this link.

The third leg or “anchor” is in the form of a Health Watch that also buys bitcoins on your behalf in the course of wearing it. It monitors your vital signs and offers a totally new concept to health and bitcoins.

In addition to the anchor pages, there are many other item pages. Rory calls them kiosks. There are clothing stores, shoe stores, wine accessory stores, and cosmetics of all kinds including a super hand cream for heavily damaged worker hands. Also long-lasting lipstick. There is a water filter that is awesome. There are super-duper batteries. Fishing Lures. Pretty much anything your heart may desire.

In Conclusion

Well, you see, even on this page where I am trying to describe being a Marketer, I am marketing to you. Actually, you do it too without even realizing it. You stop in at a new restaurant in your neighborhood. When you come out you begin telling friends and neighbors about the great meal you just had at that new establishment. We are all Marketers of different levels. And don’t even think about all of the Ads that are pushed past us on our phones and on TV. Marketing makes things happen and I like to be in the midst of what is happening. I like seeing all the new things first and I love bringing them to you.
